“Cheers for a new year, and another chance for us to get it right.” Or so said Oprah Winfrey- words that resonate with staff in our office as we look to the beginning of 2016, fresh opportunities and new challenges.
However, before we move on, please allows us a moment of reflection. It has been quite a year for Smoking Gun PR. Our team has increased in size dramatically, as has our roster of fantastic brands and businesses leading to year on year revenue rising by 25% , the sixth year in a row with at least this amount of growth. Last year’s growth had seen us jump into the Top 20 PR agency rankings in Prolific North’s annual independent analysis.
We’ve claimed a load more awards being particularly pleased with being named Consumer Agency of the Year by PR Moment, and achieved plenty for the companies we represent. Whether helping smash ticket sales targets by over 25%, to positioning brands as thought leaders with 45% media share of voice on key topics, or delivering a ROI of 7:1 from social media advertising to operating profit, our team is relentlessly focused on delivering the Smoking Gun proof of success and banishing AVE reporting one client dashboard at a time.
But, rather than simply blowing our own trumpets, we’d like to take this opportunity to offer some thanks- as is traditional around Christmas.
Thanks, then, to the wonderful clients we’re lucky enough to work alongside. Their ongoing willingness to trust us, listen and take our counsel helps great things to happen. Thanks to the partners- from other PR agencies to content makers, designers, techies, journalists, marketing boffins, media buyers, ad agencies and digital experts, who have, in no small part, helped us help others. We (literally) couldn’t do it without all of you.
Continuing in the same spirit of giving, we present our annual Almanac, now in its third edition, which offers a light-hearted, easy-to-digest summary of what made 2015 so special- from quotes of the year, to the finest (and worst) work in PR and marketing, funniest media corrections, to Britain’s online habits, we hope you’ll find the stories here informative, but more importantly, entertaining. So, without further ado, on with the show, and we’ll see you after the holidays.
The Smoking Gun office will be closed from midday Christmas Eve until Monday 4th January. As always, our account teams will be contactable via mobile phones.
