doritos-for-women

What was PepsiCo thinking? Tuesday was the centenary of women winning the right to vote here in the UK, and gender equality is a hot topic right now anyway. So why, oh why, was CEO Indra Nooyi allowed to give an interview to Freakonomics in which she says there will be a range of Doritos launched ‘for women’ so they don’t have to feel uncomfortable doing stuff with food like men do, for example crunching or licking flavour from fingers in public.

Need To Know

*Twitter has posted a solid profit report for Q4, although user numbers remain stagnant.

*Trinity Mirror has bought the Express and other Northern & Shell newspaper titles for £127million, giving rise to fears over potential job losses.

*Facebook, Netflix, and Google will not be submitting bids for rights to the English Premier League; BT and Sky are expected to retain their dominance.

After that, we looked at the increasing importance of Twitter for publishers and content creators, assessed what the most successful ads in last Sunday’s Super Bowl say about brand messages in 2018, and asked if brands are doing enough in the war on plastic.
