Last night Smoking Gun PR came cleaned up at the CIPR PRide NW Awards in Manchester. We scooped gold for Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy, gold for Best Use of Photography and Design, and silver for Best Use of Social Media… hence currently measuring up for a bigger trophy cabinet. Pats not the back all round.

It has been another uncomfortable week for Hollywood and drama in general. Kevin Spacey is reported to have behaved inappropriately towards a 14 year old boy, which is bad enough, but worse still his response- opening up about being gay- quickly outraged the LGBTQ community. Netflix has since cancelled its hugely successful series, House of Cards, in which the actor played the lead.

- Facebook revenue has skyrocketed 47% year on year in Q3, meaning the network’s revenue for the last there months stands at $10.1billion.
- Argos has predicted the most successful ads this Christmas will be ‘fun and uplifting’, which almost suggests the UK has a few things on its mind right now…
- BrewDog is looking to crowdfund £50million to expand its bar and brewing sites, and establish a ‘craft beer TV network’, whatever that means.
